Weddings these days often no longer conform to the traditional concepts of wedding. For instance there is an increasing trend of having a different style of wedding as opposed to the more traditional church wedding. Decorations can totally change the look and feel of the church. Flowers, ribbon, ballons, streamers can all be used to decorate and all give very different effects.

Requirements for Church Weddings

To some people, weddings that are held in churches require more from the couples before they can officially book the church. This is true in most circumstances because there are some churches or parishes that require that the couple go through marriage seminars, and avail of certain certificates. The church may also require that the couple present certificates that prove that they are single or that they may be able to get married.

The requirements for church weddings may also differ for each state. In certain states, be it church or other style of wedding, the requirements are the same. There are also certain churches that require the same amount of documents for any other style of wedding, so these requirements cannot exactly be defined fully as it varies from case to case.

If the couple decides to go for a wedding in a church, then it is best to ask at the local parish where they want to get married so as to get the paperwork and other requirements ready. Since there are some requirements that would take several months to process, it would be best to check out the requirements as soon as possible. It would not hurt to have all the requirements even if the couple changes their minds about the wedding destination or their wedding ideas in general.

There is no main difference between church weddings and other styles of weddings. It is not a question of solemnity or whatnot during the wedding, since this is also observed in other styles. However, it may be seen that the idea of following the more traditional wedding is one of the appeals of having a wedding in a church. Plus, many have shared that weddings held in churches are actually much cheaper compared to different styles. However, this may depend on the budget of the couple. You also have the opportunity to decorate to your hearts content with all sorts of church wedding decorations and know that it will remain safe and dry along with your guests.
